The #12000 grit of the Shapton Kuromaku Professional stone makes it ideal for finishing and final polishing of the cutting edge. The use of this stone after each knife sharpening allows to achieve incredible sharpness. The Shapton Kuromaku Professional #12000 also leaves a uniquely beautiful mirror finish. Water stones from the Shapton Kuromaku Professional series are undoubtedly one of the best on the market. They are also one of the hardest sharpening stones, whose distinguishing feature is the fact that they wear out little and do not need to be leveled so often. They cope very well with various types of hard steels (e.g. with ZDP-189 or R2 steel). Kuromaku stones – “Splash and Go” also have the advantage that they absorb water to a small extent. Therefore, unlike most other stones, they do not require soaking in water. Before the second and subsequent use, you just need to moisten them, while for the first time it is recommended to soak them for only 5 minutes. The excellent Kuromaku Professional ceramic stones collect steel very quickly, and thus provide quick sharpening. For their production, the manufacturer uses selected ceramic and abrasive materials, finally obtaining exceptionally hard stones that retain their condition for a long time without the need for leveling. All stones are packed in boxes that work well as a stand useful for sharpening. Note – it is not recommended to soak the stones from this series for more than a few hours.
