The Suehiro Cerax 6000 is a fast and effective ceramic stone with a very high concentration of abrasive material. With a grit of 6000, it is suitable for polishing, finishing, and removing the so-called wire edge. Sharpening can be continued on a Cerax 8000 stone. In addition, the Cerax 6000 increases the contrast between hard and soft steel (Hagane and Jigane), giving a beautiful Kasumi finish. Suehiro stones from the Cerax series are currently one of the best sharpening stones on the market. Cerax are medium-hard stones and require a short, 5-10 minute soak before sharpening. Thanks to the high concentration of abrasive material, they are perfect for sharpening knives even from hard powdered steels, such as ZDP-189, R2, or HAP-40. The stone is sold as a set with a Nagura – a small, harder stone for cleaning – and a professional stone holder that stabilizes the set during sharpening. Suehiro is a renowned Japanese manufacturer of sharpening stones from the Niigata province in Japan, with over 50 years of experience in the industry. Suehiro sharpening stones are made from the best materials and maintain the highest quality – a stone bought 20 years ago will have the same properties as a stone bought today.
