Takamura Santoku 165 mm is a handy knife for a wide range of kitchen tasks. It is the Japanese equivalent of a traditional chef’s knife.
The Takamura R2 kitchen knife series includes high-quality products whose core is forged from R2 (SG2) powdered steel. It is a powdered, stainless steel – very hard – ensuring an extraordinary lifespan of the cutting edge. Its additional advantage is that it is not brittle compared to other hard powdered steels. During the hardening process, the blades achieve a hardness of 62-64 HRC. The outer layers are clad with soft stainless steel, which protects the strong core and adds flexibility. The exceptionally thin blades of Takamura R2 knives, thanks to manual sharpening, provide the best properties from the first use. It is also worth mentioning the handle, which is moisture-resistant. It is made of red pakkawood with a full bolster, and can be considered almost indestructible.
