The Masahiro BWH knife set in elegant packaging includes two extremely functional tools: a 21 cm chef’s knife and a 12 cm utility knife (Utility).
The chef’s knife is one of the most important and most frequently used tools in the kitchen. Its characteristic, wide tip and long blade make it perfect for many tasks, such as slicing, chopping, mincing, or filleting. Thanks to its lightweight construction and well-balanced blade, this knife provides comfort and precision even during long-term use.
The Utility knife, a smaller version of the chef’s knife, is a perfect complement to the set. Its compact size makes it ideal for precise tasks where a larger knife might be cumbersome. It is excellent for slicing smaller ingredients, as well as for peeling vegetables and fruits.
The entire set, packaged in an elegant box, is an excellent choice for a gift, combining functionality with aesthetics and high-quality craftsmanship. It is an ideal set for both professional chefs and cooking enthusiasts.
The BWH series of knives is inspired by the MV-H line, with the same molybdenum-vanadium, high-carbon stainless steel MBS-26. This steel undergoes a three-stage hardening process, reaching a hardness of 58-59 HRC. The knife blades are carefully shaped by artisans with over 30 years of experience, which gives them exceptional sharpness, reaching a level that distinguishes them from others. The knife handle is made of Black Pakkawood, which consists of many layers pressed under high pressure and at high temperature, creating an exceptionally durable material resistant to moisture and water. The wood with an antibacterial coating is easy to care for, resembling plastic, and the handle is securely fastened with three precisely set and polished rivets. The knives from this series are sharpened on both sides, but in contrast to most Western manufacturers, Masahiro uses asymmetrical sharpening in a ratio of 80/20. This means that the cutting edge is shifted towards one of the knife’s axes. Asymmetrical sharpening allows for a thinner cutting edge, up to 35% compared to traditional, symmetrical blades, which translates into greater sharpness.
