The chef’s knife, inspired by French culinary tradition, is an indispensable tool in every kitchen. Its ergonomic design, lightness, and excellent balance between the blade and handle make the knife ideal for slicing, chopping, and other tasks, ensuring comfort of use for both small and large hands. The Utility knife is a smaller version of the chef’s knife, perfect for precise tasks where larger knives are too cumbersome, offering versatility and precision, especially when cutting small products.  

The MV-L series is a modern line of Masahiro knives, based on the successful BWH series. MBS-26 steel was used for production – molybdenum-vanadium, high-carbon, and stainless, which underwent a three-stage hardening process, reaching a hardness of 58-59 HRC. Thanks to the experience of artisans with over 30 years of tradition, Masahiro knives have achieved excellent sharpness and durability.

The handle is made of Black Pakkawood, which was created by pressing many layers under high pressure and at high temperature. This resulted in an extremely durable material, resistant to moisture and water. Compared to the BWH series, the MV-L handles have a more rounded shape and a smaller volume, which makes them ideal for users with medium and smaller hands. The wooden handle, covered with an antibacterial coating, is as easy to care for as plastic, and its solidity is ensured by three precisely set and polished rivets.

One of the differences between the MV-L and BWH series is a slightly thinner blade, which makes it easier to cut into products. The smaller thickness of the blade and handle also affects the weight of the knife, which is more than 20% lower.

The knives from this series are sharpened on both sides, but Masahiro uses asymmetrical sharpening in a ratio of 80/20, which distinguishes them from most Western manufacturers. This means that the cutting edge is shifted along the knife’s axis to one side. Thanks to this solution, the cutting edge can be up to 35% thinner compared to a symmetrical blade, which makes the knives significantly sharper.

  • All Masahiro knives are extremely sharp, so we recommend using them with due caution.
  • Masahiro knives should not be used for slicing frozen products (except for the series intended for this purpose).
  • Do not use the knives for non-food purposes.
  • For cutting, use wooden or plastic cutting boards.
  • Do not wash knives in dishwashers, which destroy the cutting edge.
  • Wash the knife in warm water with dish soap.
  • After washing, wipe the knife dry.
