The Masahiro set in elegant packaging includes three knives from the Sankei series: a Gyuto 18 cm, a Utility 15 cm, and a Paring knife 9 cm. This is a carefully selected set that will work for most cutting tasks, and thanks to the beautiful box, it is an excellent gift idea.
The Gyuto knife is one of the most frequently chosen kitchen tools, by both professionals and amateurs. Its classic shape, originating from French cuisine, makes it versatile and indispensable in the kitchen. Lightweight and perfectly balanced, it provides comfort during work and allows for precise cutting, both in slices and when chopping.
The Utility knife 15 cm is a smaller version of the chef’s knife, ideal for applications where a chef’s knife might be too big. Its versatility makes it an essential tool in every kitchen.
The set also includes a Paring knife 9 cm, a peeler, perfect for processing small products like fruits and vegetables. The sharp tip allows for precise maneuvering, and its compact size makes the knife comfortable to hold in the hand and great for small tasks.
The MBS-26 steel used to produce the knives in this series is a unique alloy of carbon (0.85-1.00%), chromium (13-15%), and molybdenum, manganese, and vanadium. Thanks to a special heat treatment, which includes a three-stage process of hardening, cooling at a low temperature, and tempering, the material reaches a hardness of 58-59HRC. The secret of this process is known only to the Hattori family. This steel allows for achieving exceptional blade sharpness and long-term maintenance of high cutting edge aggressiveness, which is valued by users worldwide. MBS-26 belongs to the group of stainless steels, is resistant to reactions with acids, and does not change color or smell in contact with acidic products. Keeping the knives in perfect condition and shine is easy; just wash them in lukewarm water with dish soap, and after washing, they should be thoroughly dried.
The knife handle, made of pakkawood, has a simple but functional shape that gives it a unique character. The perfectly polished surface, with no perceptible rivets, ensures comfort during use, even during long hours of work with the tool.
The Sankei series was designed mainly for cooking amateurs, but it will also work well in the demanding conditions of a professional kitchen. It consists of six basic models: a chef’s knife, santoku, peeler (paring), a smaller utility knife (15 cm blade), a slicing knife, and a bread knife. It is characterized by compact sizes, excellent balance, and lightness. For safety, all models (except for the bread knife) have a rounded blade corner, which reduces the risk of injury. Like all Masahiro knives, the products from the Sankei series are distinguished by precise workmanship and attention to the smallest details.
