Two different tooth patterns make this ryoba saw provide optimal performance when cutting along and across the grain. This makes it the most versatile saw useful for woodworking and carpentry tasks. The blade, which is slightly thicker, allows for backless sawing, enabling deep cuts flush with the surface without depth limitation. Meanwhile, the finer teeth near the handle greatly facilitate the process of introducing the blade into the material. This ensures a progressive cutting force.
The classic series of Japanese saws produced by ZETSAW features a rattan handle and a replaceable blade. This allows for efficient restoration of high sharpness, which would not be possible with sharpening alone (with such fine teeth, sharpening would take a very long time). This company was the first to introduce saws with replaceable blades to the market.
The series includes saws made in standard versions, i.e., ryoba, dozuki, and kataba. Their characteristic features are a thin blade (around 0.3-0.5 mm), as well as high durability and excellent sharpness.
