Higonokami Silver Folding Knife 6.5 cm Monosteel SK-5

The highly renowned Japanese Higonokami pocket knife is as recognizable in Japan as the Swiss Army knife is in Switzerland and worldwide. The design of this knife was created in 1896. Its special “chikiri” mechanism, based on a forged, small lever, allows the pocket knife to be opened. It is useful for many everyday activities – you can use it to sharpen pencils, open packages, and also cut fruits. The lightweight and small Higonokami pocket knife has a very durable, yet simple construction. It is suitable for versatile use. In the SILVER version, high-quality high-carbon steel, called SK-5, is used for production. Hardening gives it a hardness level of 60 HRC. Over time, the blade of the pocket knife gets covered with a patina, which gives it a unique character. Instead of a locking system, this pocket knife uses friction, thanks to which the blade can be held in place. To remove it from the handle, you just need to press the characteristic element of the knife, i.e., the “chikiri” lever. When using the pocket knife, you must remember to keep your thumb on the lever to keep the knife open for as long as you want. After each use, it should be thoroughly rinsed and dried.
