Shapton lapping powder is designed for flattening sharpening stones (Shapton). The bottle is filled with medium-grit silicon carbide grains. These grains are used in combination with, for example, the Shapton Naoru lapping system or a glass lapping plate.
The medium-grit lapping powder is used for flattening sharpening stones with a grit from 1000 to 5000. If you plan to flatten a sharpening stone with a grit below 1000, use coarse-grit lapping powder. After use, clean the lapping plate thoroughly to ensure no grains are left behind.
