The system is intended for final finishing, allowing the soft iron to be gently fogged and the steel structure to be brought back into balance, especially on kasumi-style finishes.
The set is built around a metal plate mounted on a rubber platform, providing stability during use. The metal plate features #320 / #600 grit, enabling controlled surface preparation before final refinement. Two polishing powders (medium and fine grain) are included for further surface adjustment, along with a mist bottle for precise water application without washing away the abrasive.
The KMR-188S is designed for light, controlled finishing work on flat blade surfaces after sharpening. It is effective for restoring natural steel contrast but may not produce results on ornamental or printed blade patterns.
